At the Market
Veggie Rx
The Red Wing Farmers Market is launched a Veggie Rx share in 2022. The goal of Veggie Rx is to increase access to fruits and vegetables for members of the Red Wing community and surrounding areas. This is done through a generous grant through Mayo Clinic that gives families a $20/week voucher for 10 weeks. Over 50 families participated in the Veggie Rx program in 2022.
SNAP-EBT and Market Bucks
The Red Wing Area Farmers Market accepts both SNAP-EBT and Market Bucks. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a federal food assistance program and the Market Bucks Program from Hunger Solutions allows us to double your SNAP-EBT purchasing power (up to $10).
For example: if you use your SNAP-EBT card to purchase $10 worth of tokens, we can match that with $10 in Market Bucks and $10 in Produce Bucks so you have $30 to spend on SNAP-eligible food.
What can I buy with SNAP-EBT and Market Bucks?
Fresh fruit and vegetables. Meat, fish, eggs, dairy. Honey, jams, jellies, pickles, baked goods, and seeds and plants that produce food!
See this SNAP-eligible list from the USDA.
